KATTY XIOMARA NEW YORK FASHION WEEK DEBUT

Having experienced incredible success in Europe, designer Katty Xiomara debuts her Spring/Summer ‘14 collection at Nolcha, during the prestigious Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week.

Born into a Portuguese family in Venezuela, Katty Xiomara pursued her fashion studies in Portugal and capitulated into the fashion industry in 2000, when she established her own clothing line ‘Katty Xiomara’. Regularly presented at both Paris and Lisbon Fashion Week, Katty Xiomara garnered immense international attention as her creations assume on elegant, voluptuous, lascivious, poetical, idyllic and romantic character of the modern woman. 

The Katty Xiomara SS ‘14 line, ‘Sketchcolors’, is reminiscence of notes in the Winter collection, based on the Portuguese tile; to celebrate this heritage. This latest collection is enhanced by a strong notion of symmetry and geometry, with groups of solid color and standardized construct pieces like a functional jigsaw puzzle; reflecting artistic ideals based on the Bauhaus School, where the creative spirit is instilled to build new on the basis already acquired by humanity. With names like, Kandinsky, Klee and Le Corbusier, this serves as inspiration to the concept that has an architectural base. There is fluidity, generally showing clean and structured details. The result of the composition of these combined concepts, is a line that is as clean as it is colorful, as solid as it is de-structured; sweet and light yet strong and warm. 

With international press and bloggers quickly recognizing the Katty Xiomara brand, this designer is one to watch, having rapidly risen to the catwalks of New York Fashion Week, in such a short period.
