With most of us planning to take at least some vacation time this summer, what better time for a little at-home pampering? Whether you want to give yourself a DIY pedicure, a facial, or a soak in the tub, all you need is some Epsom salt, which you can pick up at your local pharmacy or supermarket for just a few dollars.
Here are a few ways to use Epsom salt:
  • Glowing skin exfoliating treatment: Mix 2 cups of Epsom Salt with 1/4 cup of petroleum jelly and a few drops of lavender essential oil. Use the mixture to gently scrub away dry skin patches.
  • Microdermabrasion Facial: Mix 1/2 TSP of Epsom Salt into cleansing cream for a deep-pore cleansing. Massage on skin, rinse with cool water and pat dry.
  • Pedicure Perfection: Dissolve a half cup of Epsom Salt into two quarts of warm water. Pour the water into a container and soak your bare feet for 15 to 20 minutes. For an extra treat, add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent. Massage the entire foot with Epsom Salt, concentrating on the heels and ankles to remove any dry, rough spots. Then rinse your feet with clean tap water and dry them thoroughly.
  • Bathtime Bliss: Add two cups of Epsom Salt to the water in a standard-sized bathtub and soak for at least 12 minutes. For an extra treat, add a few drops of eucalyptus oil for a refreshing scent.

You can purchase plain Epsom salt or some that are scented or infused with oils. Either way Epsom salt is a quick, inexpensive way of pampering yourself this summer. Below is a video of a natural facial scrub that I thought would be helpful for you ladies. Leave a comment down below and tell us what your experience was with Epsom salt.
