Wedding season is here and that means blushing brides looking for that special dress for one of the most important day's of their life. While some of us may already know what style and fabric we want because we've been planning "the big" day since 3rd grade, most brides have to go through trying on multiple dresses for the perfect dress that suits their figure and style. Bridal Fashion Week was a couple weeks ago in the Big Apple where the designers put their Spring 2014 collection on display. Here are 5 major trends we picked out from Bridal Fashion Week

1. SHORT SHIRTS: Designers like Monique Lhuillier made a dramatic statement by shortening they tradition wedding gown and making it more modern yet retro. Monique Lhuillier took inspiration by classic fashionistas like Jackie O to make her fashion forward bridal gowns.

2. DRAMATIC BACKS: this is one trend that doesn't go out of style. Each bride wants to make a statement and give their families and guest something to remember when it comes to their wedding gown. Designers like Marchesa and Temperly London jumped on this opportunity to make a statement on the runway

3. APPLIQUES: This trend is one that will never go away completely. We have seen this time and time again from designers like Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier.  However, this seasons applique or shears took design embellishment to a new level. These creative designers take detail to new levels to actually see the details or rather really feel them by looking at a picture, which is so important for the Bride as well.

4. PEPLUMS: This little phenomenon that has been going strong since last year and not just with wedding gowns but everywhere in ready to wear.  This may not be flattering for every body type but trust me it will cover any belly imperfection you want to hide and balance out wide shoulders. Vera Wang is the heavyweight in the bridal industry and her dresses are always unforgettable and most celebrities go with Vera Wang as their bridal gown designer. Vera Wang has made stunning peplum designs for this upcoming season. Along with having the pastel colored applique colored, Oscar de la Renta followed the peplum trend.
